Job Description – Planning Engineer / Planning Manager (PMC – Industrial Projects)

Position: Planning Engineer / Planning Manager
Industry: Project Management Consultancy (PMC) – Industrial Projects
Location: Pan India
Experience: 5–15 Years (Depending on Position)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Develop, monitor, and control detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project (MSP).
Prepare baseline schedules, recovery plans, and project execution plans.
Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify delays and critical activities.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and site teams to ensure timely project execution.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and MIS reports.
Conduct schedule reviews, look-ahead planning, and progress meetings.
Perform critical path analysis (CPA) and earned value analysis (EVA).
Track project milestones, resource utilization, productivity, and cost performance.
Review contractor schedules and recommend corrective actions wherever required.
Ensure compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
Support risk identification, mitigation planning, and project controls.

Requirements

Required Skills

Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project (MSP).
Excellent knowledge of project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting.
Experience in delay analysis, recovery scheduling, and project control techniques.
Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work in a fast-paced PMC environment.
